There once was a site about reading,
With books and reviews it was exceeding,
Filled readers with delight,

Has all the information you’ll be needing!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

St. Patrick’s Day is my all-time favorite holiday. =) I blame it on my red hair and Irish heritage…

An Irish Author worth reading…

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010

Not only is St. Patrick’s Day tomorrow but it is Irish-American Heritage Month and so, let’s focus on some excellent Irish writing, shall we?

One of my favorite Irish authors is Colum McCann. I started with “Let the Great World Spin” and loved it so much I went straight onto “Zoli” and “Everything In This Country A Must“… the last was my least favorite but it was still worth the read. =)

He is a strong writer. His characters are flawed and perfect. They are believable and draw you into their lives and keep you engrossed in their story. And their stories are compelling, true to life but just a little bit larger… in a very ordinary way.

Maybe I will consume his other books this month and do some extensive reviews on them…anyone up for a group read?
